The 13th edition of the international metal festival METALFEST OPEN AIR welcomes a new, iconic name to its list of confirmed bands - DIMMU BORGIR! After last year's visit of the Polish kings of darkness BEHEMOTH, hell now sends us another of its red-hot black-metal missionaries - Norway's DIMMU BORGIR!
DIMMU BORGIR is already celebrating the 30th anniversary of its existence, and during that time they have become important, key artists who have left an indelible and very sharp mark of their sound in the world of metal. DIMMU BORGIR, were born right in the heart of the Norwegian black metal scene in 1993, and managed to break out of the boundaries of the genre quite quickly. They dared to combine traditional black-metal with opulent symphonic orchestration and thus became pioneers of a new musical field. They recorded absolutely groundbreaking albums like "Enthrone Darkness Triumphant" (1997), "Spiritual Black Dimensions" (1999) or "Death Cult Armageddon" (2003) and managed to conquer the whole world with them. After their last two successful albums “Abrahadabra” (2010) and “Eonian” (2018) and the remixed version of “Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia”, DIMMU BORGIR now announce their 30-year legacy by releasing a collection of their cover songs for the first time. "Inspiratio Profanus" features a cover version of "Black Metal" (VENOM), genre-defining "Perfect Strangers" (DEEP PURPLE), fan favorite "Burn In Hell" (TWISTED SISTER), electrifying renditions from the legendary CELTIC FROST as well as other immensely influential artists! The record will be released on December 8th and you can start looking forward to the start of the summer festival season! It´s right the Pilsen´s METALFEST where the summer festival season starts, and with DIMMU BORGIR it will be an extra brutal start next year! What to add? Perhaps it's just that the band doesn't play very often and this headline show at the Pilsen´s METALFEST will be one of only a few exclusive performances where you can see this legend live!
